Matthew Bourne’s (Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty) double Olivier Award-winning adaptation of the classic Powell and Pressburger film is set to a new score arranged by Terry Davies using the mesmerizing music of golden-age Hollywood composer Bernard Herrmann (most famous for his collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles). The Red Shoes is Matthew Bourne’s first new production in four years and had its world premiere at Sadler’s Wells, London in December 2016, where it opened to rave reviews and a sold-out eight week season.
